And then fate (the heartless bitch) intervenes. But now her entire crew has found "the one" and she’s beginning to feel like a fifth wheel. She tried and it blew up in her face, so she’ll stick with casual hookups, thank you very much. All opinions are my own.Following Written in the Stars and Hang the Moon, national bestselling author Alexandria Bellefleur pens another steamy queer rom-com about former best friends who might be each other's second chance at love… *Thank you Netgalley for the advanced reader copy.

A great second chance, friends to lovers romance I highly recommend. That being said, the writing was wonderful, the story flowed and I really enjoyed it. As adults, just be real with one another. I can forgive them for NOT doing that as teens but come on. Seriously, all their angst from the past and present could have easily been avoided if they were just open and honest with one another. Of course this book falls into that camp where you just want to shake the characters and say “just talk to one another!!!” I loved every minute of their reconnection. Seriously, once Margot and Olivia succumbed to their attraction it was so on and Bellefleur did not hold back. I just didn’t expect this to be so incredibly HOT! I really liked non-nonsense Margot in Written in the Stars so I was excited to see her get her happily-ever-after. Not only is it a blast from the heartbreaking past but she’s now also offering up her apartment as an option for her former best friend who’s now homeless. She hasn’t seen Olivia for eleven years since their childhood friendship imploded after a very hot and heavy spring break where they crossed the line from friends to lovers. She’s all for putting up a good front for the wedding planning of her best friend’s nuptuals until she comes face to face with the new wedding planner. Margot is starting to feel like the fifth wheel now that her friends are paired up with their special someones.

But will history repeat itself or should she count her lucky stars that she gets a second chance with her first love?īellefleur wrote one of my most favorite lesbian romance books in Written in the Stars, and she delivers another with this one. As they spend time in close quarters, Margot starts to question her no-strings stance. When a series of unfortunate events leaves Olivia without a place to stay, Margot offers up her spare room. Never in a million years did the wedding planner expect her important new client’s Best Woman would be the one that got away. But when she comes face-to-face with Olivia Grant-her childhood friend, her first love, her first… well, everything, she’s not so sure about that stance.
